PRINCIPAL'S REPORT
Dear Community,
Welcome back to term 4. I can’t believe that we will soon be on the countdown to Christmas. It’s great to see our kids back refreshed and ready for the final term of 2024.
Everyday Counts: Did you know? Research shows that in Queensland, higher student attendance at school is associated, on average, with higher student achievement. Why is regular attendance at school important? Regular school attendance will mean that your child gets a better chance at life.
Your child will achieve better when they go to school all day, every school day:
- they learn better • they make friends • they are happier • they have a brighter future.
Why must I send my child to school? Under Queensland law, you must make sure your child of school age is enrolled and attends school all day, every school day unless they have a reasonable excuse. Illness, doing work experience, competing in a school sporting event or going on a school excursion are reasonable excuses for being absent from school. Principals decide if the excuse given for your child’s absence is reasonable. Avoid keeping your child away from school for birthdays, shopping, visiting family and friends, if they sleep in, looking after other children, minor check-ups or care such as hair cuts.
Prep 2025
If you have a child who is due to start Prep next year and have not yet registered your interest with the school, I would encourage you to do so. Our Pre-prep program has started with more to come in this term and positions are filling fast. Please call Andrea at our front office to register your interest or better still drop in and ask for an enrolment pack.
Student Code of Conduct
We are currently reviewing our Student Code of Conduct which will set out the direction we take and the processes for both negative and positive behaviour in our school. Once this is finalised at school level, we will be putting it out for community consultation in week 7 of this term. Your feedback is very much valued by us and this will be your opportunity to have a voice in this process.
Parent and Community Code of Conduct
We welcome parents and other members of our diverse community into our amazing school.
Working together with our school community, our amazing school staff support the learning and wellbeing of every one of our Mooloolah students, and are entitled to a safe work environment.
Parents and other visitors to school’s support safety by ensuring their communications and conduct at the school and school activities is respectful.
Parents and visitors to our school communities demonstrate this by using the appropriate forms and means of communication:
- be polite to others
- act as positive role models
- recognise and respect personal differences
- use the school’s communication process to address concerns
- using polite spoken and written language
- speaking and behaving respectfully at all times
- being compassionate when interacting with others
- informing staff if the behaviour of others is negatively impacting them or their family
- respecting staff time by accepting they will respond to appropriate communication when they are able
- requesting a meeting to discuss any concerns about their child’s education — allowing staff time to prepare and appreciating their time may be limited
Its lovely to be back in the swing of things.

I have been advised that when attempting to pay invoices via BPoint on a mobile phone (particularly iPhones) there are connection issues. This maybe to do with the privacy setup.
You are very welcome to come into the office and pay over the counter by EFTPOS.
We are unable to take credit card details over the telephone but you can contact the BPOINT IVR on 1300 631 073 hotline and follow the below steps to pay bills over the telephone.
On Saturday 26th October the State Government Elections are on. The school hall will be used as a Polling Booth. All voters are to park outside of the school grounds. Please ensure you leave the Disability Car Park free for those with parking permits only to use.
