Principal Report
Community,
Welcome back to Term 3. It was so nice to see all our Mooloolah kids walking through the gate smiling after their break last week. Term three has started at a hectic pace as usual. We are back to a little normality with our year 5/6 cohorts now moved back into their brand-new refurbished learning spaces. Needless to say, both parents and students are very happy. Likewise, 3/4 A have moved back into their room, and we have a room for teaching LOTE and another that will become our STEM room. Keep an eye out for more information around our Mooloolah Robotics Club and Program.
Unfortunately, we had Tree Loppers in over the holidays, and they destroyed our junior oval leaving it unsafe to play on. They are back today repairing our oval and chipping more trees that were left behind. This will mean that a section of our Junior oval will be closed for a length of time to allow it to regenerate once it has been top dressed and the grass grown back. Part of the junior oval will still be open, and we have plenty of options for our juniors to play. Fortunately, space to run around on is not something we are short on.
School Opinion Survey
Families with one or more child enrolled at Mooloolah State School will receive one invitation to complete the School Opinion Survey. These invitations will be sent over a number of days in the week beginning Monday 21 July. This invitation will come in the form of an email from the Education Department. This link will be unique to yourself and can only be used once, no passwords or logins are needed, simply click the link and complete the survey. The survey will close on 22 August. We very much value your input into this survey as it gives a great indication of where we are in a number of areas and where we could possibly improve.
Whole School Review
Next Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday we will be having a whole school review. Over these three days we will be hosting a team of three which will include two lead reviewers from the State Review Team and one Peer Principal Reviewer. During this time the review team will talk with all staff, some students, some parents, P&C members, community partners, and feeder high schools. From this three day review we will receive a report which will allow our leadership team to form the next 4 year strategic plan for Mooloolah State School. This is a positive and exciting experience which will highlight what we are doing well and our next steps to move forward.
Our school is working so hard in learning last Semester we achieved 84.5 % A-C in English and 87.5 % A-C in Math across the school. Feel free to ask your child what they are learning at school? How they are going? And what is their goal. In class all students have been interacting with their learning walls and working really hard.
I look forward to continuing our great work,
Scott Thompson
