Principal Report

Community,

What an excellent past fortnight with the highlight being our Book Week parade. Each year I am amazed with the effort our parents, staff and kids go to in creating their costumes. I think this year may have been the best I’ve seen. I absolutely loved the Lion Witch and The Wardrobe Cupboard. It was so nice to see Little Munchkins join us, they really did make the day that little more special.

This week our school touch football teams will head off to interschool sport. We wish them all the best and to make sure they have a ton of fun. We offer our students some great opportunities here at Mooloolah State and each time our Mooloolah Legends absolutely thrive.

Speaking of thriving Mooloolah has its very own Jiu Jitsu star. Theo Taylor competed in the Australian Jiu Jitsu Championship finishing second overall. Theo is already a junior coach and being only 6 he is now training with the 8 to 14 yrs students. Keep up the great work Theo I can’t wait to see how far you can take this.

Enrolment for 2026

If you are looking to enrol a prep student or know of friends wanting to enrol their students at our magic little school for 2026 now is the time to book an enrolment interview and school tour. Our school tours are running weekly on alternate days each week (Mondays 9am and Thursdays 2pm. School Opinion Survey

Thank you to all of those who have already completed the Parent/Caregiver Survey. If you have not had a chance to complete the survey yet, please note that the online surveys will now remain open until Friday, 29 August 2025. This is your opportunity to provide feedback about what our school does well and how we can improve.

Can’t find your invitation? If your family has more than one parent/caregiver, check that they haven’t received the invitation and/or check your junk email folder.

Staffing

Currently our Business Manager Linda Rossiter is on leave, filling in for her is our amazing Shelly Lencz. Make sure you say hi to her the next time you are in the office. As you know the lovely Kirsten Noe is currently spreading her wings and stepping into the world of being a principal. Kirsten won the role as Acting Principal at Daagun State School. Filling in for her for this term is Megan Frischkorn. Megan knows our school, kids and community and has really hit the ground running. We welcome Rebbeca Wainwright to the front office; Rebecca comes to us from working with the Sunshine Coast Council and brings a wealth of experience. Please be patient as we find our groove.

Administration Update

Collection of Students 

When collecting students, please report to the office and we will organise for your child/children to meet you there. This allows the school to be able to manage any emergencies or instances where we need to be aware of who is at the school at any particular time.  Thank you for your cooperation. 

Q Parents 

Please register for QParents if you haven't already done so.  QParents has range of services with options to provide consent, notify of absences, pay invoices, view class timetables and school events.

Outstanding invoices/fees 

Please follow up on payment of outstanding invoice/fees due for your child/children.  Payments can be made via QParents website or via BPay using the reference number noted on the invoice.  Alternatively, payment can be made in the office.

The Mooloolah SS Cookbook!

Recipe and artwork submissions close this Friday! Please help us by submitting your favourite recipes and some drawing from your children to include!

The Mooloolah P&C is putting together our first ever cookbook as one of our main fundraisers this year, to be titled ‘The Hungry Cookaburra’. We are asking for your help by submitting your favourite recipes to include. If we can get one or two recipes per family, this will give us an amazing cookbook with over 100 recipes in it! We would also love to see a photo of your child inn action in the kitchen (if you are happy to submit one), and some amazing drawings for the cover of our cookbook.

We are hoping to have it ready for selling at this year’s Christmas Concert.

Father's Day Stall – this will run during the day on Tuesday 2^nd September. With gifts from $3 - $15. Please send your child to school with some money if they would like to purchase a gift and they will go in their class groups. We are also looking for volunteers to help man the stall. Please get in touch via email or directly message Amanda Quinn if you can assist.
