Community
What a big week to finish the term, it was absolutely lovely to meet some of our 2026 incoming preps and their parents at our first prep come and try morning. They were full of beans and really got involved in our P.E., Music and STEM lessons. It is a great way for them to become more familiar with our school and staff and get a taste of a day in prep. We will be holding, Play Based Prep enrolments on Thursday 30 October and 6 November from 9 till 11:00 am if you would like to come and have a look our next come and try session. This week our year 6’s are on camp at Tallebudgera for the week and this morning our year 5 students left for Apex camp Mudjimba. All were very excited to be getting on that bus and heading to camp to learn and grow in a different environment.

Our school tours are running weekly on alternate days each week (Mondays 9am and Thursdays 2pm. Our numbers are filling fast; we would love to have you enrolled and ready to go for 2026.

Parent Teacher interviews

Grandparents/Volunteers Day/Colour Run
Friday 17 October is an amazing day where we get to celebrate the hard work of our amazing volunteers who give so much to our school and our incredible grandparents. Join us from 9am in the hall for a celebration of the amazing volunteers and grandparents we have in Mooloolah State School. Later that day during the middle session we will be holding our annual colour run which promises to be fun, bright, messy and an absolute blast. Please get involved and help raise money for our great little school. See our Events and Reminders section below for further information.
School Mascot
The long-awaited arrival of our school mascot has finally come. During the first 2 weeks of term 4 we will be running a competition to name our mascot. Our mascot will be on parade to present awards and be the face of our school. As a school we have been working extremely hard around our positive behaviour for learning and school culture. Heading into 2026 we will be looking to consult with our community in establishing three core values and a vision aligned to our school. This will become the essence of our school and ensure everyone knows exactly what we are about and what we value. It really is an exciting time for our school.

Please keep a watch over our awesome little school during the break and should you see anything suspicious call School watch on 13 17 88

Head of Curriculum Update
What a busy couple of weeks we have had here at Mooloolah in teaching and learning! Students, teachers and our wonderful teacher aides have all been working incredibly hard to finalise their units of work before the holidays. Every day at school counts!
The 2025 Colour Run is on!! This year we will be raising money to go towards reading and literacy resources that will be used across all year levels. The big day is Friday October 17 and there are 2 HUGE rewards on offer, one for the person who raises the most money overall and one for the class who raise the most combined. The rewards may involve sliming a teacher or 2! Notes should have gone home this week to all Prep to Yr 5 students. Please see attached for further info.
I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday. See you all in a couple of weeks, ready to go for a great term 4.
